Legal Legally married in the paradise island of Bali is now possible for couples with Catholic, Protestant (Christian,) Catholic Buddhist, Hindu and Moslem religious view. the legal wedding ceremony in Bali comprises of two ceremonies, the religious ceremony which is officiated by the relevant religious body based on the couples religious view and s the civil ceremony officiated by The Civil Registry Office, with both ceremonies taking place consecutively at a special venue selected by the couples, except for a Moslem Wedding Ceremony which is officiated by Kantor Urusan Agama “KUA” meaning Department of Religion and not the Civil Registry Office.
A legal weeding ceremony in Bali requires relevant documents that need to be submitted by the couple to us prior the ceremony so the relevant legal arrangement can be made on the behalf of the couple. The required documents to be submitted are based on the requirements according to the Civil Registry Office and also those documentation requirements relevant to the couples chosen religious ceremony. For Moslem couples the documentation requirements will be those relevant to Kantor Urusan Agama / KUA.
The required documents are as follow:
For Indonesian Citizen
- Copy of Birth Certificate for both parties
- Identity Card (KTP)
- Never Married Certificate : from Kepala Desa or Lurah
- Letter of parental consent for person under 21
- Death certificate of former spouse (when relevant)
- Divorce certificate (when relevant)
- Witnesses at least 2 person ( if required)
- Five ( 5 ) photographs (6x4cm) of the couple in same photo.
For Overseas Citizen
- Copy of Birth of certificate
- Copy of Passport of the couple and witnesses
- Certificate of No Impediment to Marry, it is issued from consulate or embassy in Indonesia
- Death certificate of former spouse (when relevant)
- Divorce certificate (When relevant)
- Letter of parental consent for person under 21
- Witnesses at least 2 person ( if required)
- Five (5) photographs (6x4) of the couple in same photo.
Additional Requirements for Catholic Wedding
- Letter of free to marry or has never been married from Church or Parish Priest
- Letter from your church or Parish Priest to delegate your marriage to be handled by Priest and Catholic Church in Bali
- Certificate of Baptism - of the couple
- Certificate pre-marriage course
- Pre Nuptial Inquiry (to fill)
- Two (2) photographs (6x4cm) of the couple in same photo.
(For Catholic Wedding Ceremony, the documents should be received at least 3 weeks before wedding day)
